Richard Meacock at Squire House

If there was only time for ‘one more cup of tea.’

It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of Richard Meacock, co-owner of Squire House Gardens. Richard died Tuesday, September 3 after a long struggle with illness which he fought with bravery, lack of complaint and with humor. Richard was not only the creative force and inspiration behind our Afton, Minnesota business, he was a founding faculty member at Mounds Park Academy. He was a self-taught artist and creator of the annual Squire House Spring Art Show. He was a great poet, carpenter, and pianist— a true Renaissance Man. Richard was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and a friend and inspiration to so many. We will greatly miss his quick wit, deep wisdom, kindness, generosity and powerful spirit.

You are welcome to stop by to remember Richard, share a cup of tea and find a peaceful moment in the garden that he and Martin Stern envisioned and brought to life for twenty-eight years.

Memorial Event
The Richard Meacock Remembrance is planned for 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 6 at Mounds Park Academy, located at 2051 Larpenteur Ave. East, St Paul MN 55109.

In lieu of flowers, gifts, and cards, Richard's family requests your presence at his Remembrance. Share stories and memories by submitting them to Donations to be made to the Richard Meacock Memorial Fund at Mounds Park Academy.
